My name is Mirlene Richard. I am the Owner/Founder of VERA Consulting Group, LLC. I became commissioned by the State of New York as a licensed Notary Public recently in March 2021. After receiving my commission and fell in love with the idea and expanding my business further, I became a Certified Notary Signing Agent and Immigration Forms Specialist in New York known as Immigration Assistance Provider, trained by the National Notary Association.
Let’s reel it back a little. Before my itinerary of becoming commissioned, I am an alumna graduate student of Sage College. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Organizational Management graduated in December 2011, Bachelor of Science degree graduated in 2007. I am also Certified Project Management-Lean Process (PM-LPC), Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (SSGBC), and Executive Management Certified (EM-C).
I am also bilingual, fluent in Haitian Creole. I have a wealth of experience in customer service as an insurance health agent, I work full time as a Behavioral Health Clinical Quality Audit Analyst. VERA Consulting will maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times while providing the service as efficiently as possible.
I am a proud member of the National Notary Association and American Society of Notaries and insured of $1,000,000 of E&O insurance coverage.
I am NNA Certified and Passed background screening as of March 21, 2021.

Licensed by the Secretary of State to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents.
Notarial functions include:
- Administering oaths and affirmations;
- Taking affidavits and depositions;
- Receiving and certifying acknowledgments or proof of such written instruments as deeds, mortgages and powers of attorney; and;
- Demanding acceptance or payment of foreign and inland bills of exchange, promissory notes and obligations in writing, and protesting the same for non-payment.
LOAN SIGNING AGENT
Notary public who are certified and trained to handle loan document signings such as purchases, refinances, reverse mortgages, home equity lines of credit, and loan modifications etc… The Certified Signing Agent duties is to present each document included in the loan-closing package to the signer(s), witness the signing of each documents, and notarize each document in the package.
* Fees for loan closings prices are varies and base on the type of loans, how many signers, location and other factors.
MOBILE NOTARY SERVICES FEES
Mobile notaries who will travel to the customer’s residence, or place of business, or other location of choice to notarize documents.
The schedule fees are determined base on number of factors and in addition to the maximum state fees stated below.
- Travel time
- Type of document
- Number of document(s) that need to be signed.
GENRAL NOTARIAL ACTS
Maximum fees for General notarial acts in the State of New York are:
An acknowledgment ensures the identity of the signer. A signer will declare to a notary officer that they are willingly signing a document. For a notary to perform an acknowledgment, you must appear in person.
$2.00 per person
$2.00 for each witness thereafter
A jurat is that part of an affidavit where the officer (notary public) certifies that it was sworn to before him. It is not the affidavit.
When a Jurat is needed, the person must appear before the notary with the document. The notary will administer the oath or affirmation and affirm the statements are true.

$2.00 each per person including oath
OATH OR AFFIRMATION
Notaries public must administer oaths and affirmations in manner and form as prescribed by the Civil Practice Law and Rules.
$2.00 per person (not including the Jurats)
PROOF OF EXECUTION
Proofs of Execution is $2.00 plus $2.00 for each sworn witness.
For Protests, the fee is .75 cents plus .10 cents for each notice.
